Renaissance Festival

Went to the Renaissance Festival for the first time in March.  I had fun making my own costume to wear, enjoying and gawking over the amazing talented artists, got some amazing photos, and I was REALLY good on my healthy eating!  Didn't want to ruin my accomplishments on a big fat turkey leg, or fruit drenched in sugary chocolate!  Here are a few of the photos I wanted to share....

Some beautiful costumes they had for sale, I do not have a photographic memory (thats why I have a camera), I wanted to record these ideas for my costume to make for next years' festival.

Here is a self portrait I took in the fitting room of the costume shop, wanted to show off my costume, made top and skirt out of king size sheets i found at the thrift store, and corset was all scrap material leftover from a previous project.  If only I can get so lucky for next year....

First act was Jamila Lotus.  These girls ROCKED!  The band was great too!  Their talent was amazing!!!  I could have sat and watched them all day!  Makes me really want to learn to belly dance :-)   someday...  if I can ever find the time..

Amazing strength and flexibility!  simply breathtaking!

These guys from Clan Tynker cracked me up!  Also astounded me with the fire swallowing, sword throwing and pretty much crazy dangerous acts.   We got to this stage a few minutes late so not such great seats.

Now here we come to Barely Balanced,  we were walking by and it was standing room only in the back. I know why..  hilarious, (almost not family friendly jokes) and amazing strength and talent.  These 3 put on an amazing show.

Bodice coolers anyone?

photo of yours truly!  (with sunglasses on my head... whoops!)

This group of music and dane Ghazaal Beledi, also did belly dancing.   I loved it as well!  Very different style, but still the belly dance.  These girls were shaking those hips to jingle the bells!  Loads of fun to watch.

 Metal roses for sale... beautiful

And lastly, another costume for inspiration :-)
