The Harpers

I was contacted to do a family photo shoot for the Harper's.  The two older boys also needed senior portraits.  I was very excited about this session, especially with the location that they chose.  Definitely different then my normal and made for some excellent photographs.  I also believe these urban shots suit this family perfectly, all part of choosing a location that makes the client feel comfortable. It being monsoon season and possible storms any day...  I was glued to the Weather Channel App on my phone the whole week before.  First it said 20% chance of rain on shoot day, then 30%, to 40% (this is when I began to worry), then two days before the shoot it went back down to 20%, so feeling better.  On the day of the shoot, the forecast said rain after midnight.  YEAH!!!  There was overcast and some amazing clouds.  About 30 min into the session,  felt a few sprinkles, ok a few drops, right, no big deal.  Ten min later we were standing on the corner huddled under an awning and my camera under my shirt in a huge down pour.  That same sudden downpour was the cause of this wreck .  It did not look like it was going to let up at all!  We were making plans to edit what I took thus far, and if need be we will meet again to finish the session.  Then the rain slowed, and stopped for some astounding skies and rainbow!  It couldn't have turned out better!  I do believe that will be one of my most memorable photo shoots.  I think everyone had a great time and the shots turned out amazing!  One thing I regret is not taking a picture of the sheets of rain coming down.
Thank you Harpers for choosing Sunray Photography, and for a great afternoon!

Roxie

This is our nosy dog Roxie.  She just turned two last month and is a pure bread German Shepherd.  Her mommy is an all white shepherd and dad is all black.  As you can see Roxie got the standard black/tan coloring.  She lost her collar a few days ago and we still have yet to find it.  Today I went walking around the yard to see if I can find it and she was being a snoop standing on the wood and poking her head under the fence.  I went back inside grabbed my camera and got some great shots that capture her personality.  Not quite sure what had got her interest on the other side the wall, but she must have heard something.  Roxie is always such a rambunctious dog that wont sit still for a picture, so I took advantage of today when she was too busy to notice that I was snapping pictures of her.  For my next challenge... I shall try to get some good shots of our black lab mix, Cody.

Austin is 9

Happy Birthday to my #3!  Nine years ago, on our 2nd wedding anniversary, came the best anniversary gift ever!  My little Austin was born at 5:35 am at a small 9lbs 2oz.  Still to this day he is an early-bird.  Always the first one up and rearing to go!  He has grown up so much, until you are a parent you won't believe how fast time flies.  He is playing violin for the second year now, enjoys reading, and science... always wanting to conduct some goofy (yet mind intriguing) experiments.  We just had a small family get-together at my parents house for swimming, pizza and cheesecake.  I always try to do a full photo shoot of each of my boys for their birthday, they hate being dragged around and posing for pictures, but that's part of life for them now and they know it!  They have learned to just deal and do what Mommy says and we will get this over quickly and painlessly.  In the end they will appreciate this years down the road, they already do enjoy looking at the finished products on the computer ;-)  Here are a few shots I took of the birthday boy.  Happy Birthday Austin... I love you

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

And Boys Just Wanna Watch the Pretty Girls!
A few weeks ago, my youngest son Clay and I went to a friend of mine's to play at her local splash park.  We thought it would be a great way for the kids to run around and have a good time.  Not to mention a fun free way to cool off in the hot summer sun.  We went with my friend's daughter and niece, all three kids are close to the same age.  I was hoping Clay would have a blast running around with them, but instead he just sat back at the table and drank is Gatorade and watched the girls run around.  Guess he has already taken daddy's advice "all girls are crazy."

Moving Day :*-(

My brother and sister-in-law have packed up and moved to Alabama and they took my adorable niece with them.  I have already told you I take my camera almost everywhere.  So of course I brought it on moving day.  I have also been an employee of U-haul for almost 10 year so taking pictures of the
U-haul trucks was very appropriate.

Clay in the big empty JH.

Clay got a kick out of the loading ramp, he was rolling his piggy down the ramp as well
as up and down it himself three dozen times or more.
All U-haul trucks and trailer graphics have a "Running Sammy" hidden in them.  I have never found one before.  I even asked a guy who worked in the art department if they really do exist.  I found him on the Connecticut SuperGraphic

See him in the middle of the picture?

JH in the driveway, mustang waiting to be loaded on the AT,
and one of many loads of recycle trash to be emptied.

Truck #2, it was a big debate on if this was going to be needed or not,
and yes the Bisch's won!  The EL was needed.

Alli is packed and ready to go.  Aunt Julie will miss you bunches!
XOXOXOXOXOXOXO

The manager at the Uhaul Center gave clay a cardboard U-BOX bank truck.
I have not seen this one yet so i took some pics before it got destroyed.

They did make it to Alabama safely, and have unloaded the trucks and settling in.  I hope to go visit them in the near future.  Anyone in Alabama want a photo shoot to help pay for my plane ticket???
